Driving tips
Speed limit inside the city: 50 km/h.
Roads outside the city without a barrier: 80 km/h.
Roads outside the city with a barrier: 90 km/h.
Highways: 100 km/h.
Toll road: 110 km/h.
Herzliya is a beautiful city, located just north of Tel Aviv, and is divided into two parts, Herzliya and Herzliya Pituach.
Herzliya Pituach is a major High-Tech center in Israel, and our Avis Station for Car rental in Herzliya is located there.
Parking
In Herzliya itself, there is no problem finding a parking spot on the street. You can park along grey curbstones and if there aren’t any, there are blue and white curbstones where you can park using parking meters and pay-and-display vouchers.
Most of Herzliya Pituach streets are marked with blue and white curbstones, but there are parking lots spread out in the area as well.
Road conditions
Herzliya located in between 4 main highways, going anywhere from there will be easy.
There are a lot of traffic jams during rush hours, especially when trying to enter Tel Aviv.

General tips |
Seatbelts are compulsory front and rear. Children under 14 years old are not allowed to sit in the front.
It is illegal to speak with a mobile phone without a "hands free" device.
For any car rental in Herzliya, you must carry your driving license at all times, as well as your Avis insurance and rental details.
Check with your agent about the need of an international driving license.
When picking up/returning a car from/to Ben-Gurion airport, there is a handling fee of $27. Tourists and non-Israeli citizens don’t pay VAT which is 16%.
There is a toll road named "highway 6" that stretches out from the north (Ein-Tut junction between Zichron-Yaakov and Yokneam) to the south (Maachaz junction near Beer-Sheva).
Payment is made automatically via a car license scanner and the bill is sent to the driver by mail or car rental company.
